Trains are the easiest way to reach Varanasi, with multiple daily services to cities including Delhi, Agra, Lucknow, Mumbai and Kolkata. Varanasi is served by two major railway stations, the Varanasi Junction in the heart of the city and the Mughal Sarai Junction about 15 km east of the city.
Varanasi is well-connected by road to all major cities in Uttar Pradesh. There is also a good network of daily buses that connects the city to other major towns, some of which are run by the State Government from Lucknow.
