The desire to gaze at the pristine waters of Dal lake from the skies can now be fulfilled without a strenuous climb up a nearby hill or a search for that elusive ticket to Heaven. A recent addition made in the bounteous delights of the valley of Kashmir is Aero Ballooning, a unique experience that offers an aerial view of the picturesque Dal Lake.

 

This balloon ride at Zabarwan Park takes you sailing across the waters of the famous lake and will surely boost the adventure tourism scene at Jammu and Kashmir. Incidentally, the venture is the first of its kind in the country.

Surrounded by gardens, orchards and majestic mountains, this sparkling lake offers shikara rides and is host to a floating market where vendors sell everything from flowers and food to shawls and carpets. The floating gardens upon the lake are a marvelous sight, with lilies and lotuses adding to the surrounding fragrance. Dal lake is also known for its water skiing facilities, a fact that attracts a lot of adventures junkies to the state.
