Shoghi is not as glamourous as its immediate neighbour - Shimla. Neither does it have the sporting abilities of Manali. In the large sibling list of the Himachal family, it is that reserved cousin, who's most attractive quality is her quietude. In her calmess lies her charm, in her silence lie a hundred poems. It lies 13 kilometres before Shimla on the NH 22 route. You might still end up going to Shimla, for it's human nature to chase, choose dynamism over grace. The pines, the deodars, the oaks shall remain though.

There are a number of nice walking trails in and around Shoghi. Full of pines, oaks and deodar forests, Shoghi is a dream come true for a nature lover.

As soon as you enter Shoghi, there are a number of 'dhabas' selling hot food. These also form as a pit-stop for those traveling to Shimla. Try the food here, you won't be disappointed.

Shoghi has a pleasant climate in the summer months, and it gets cold once winter sets in.

When To visit

The best time to visit is from April to June and September to November.

Shimla is just 13 kilometres away, and if ye feel like shopping or having a fancy lunch, head for this place that was once the summer capital of the British.
