Spend a whole day seeing the sights of Delhi and making sense of the old and the new, the quiet and the loud aspects of India's capital. See the city through the eyes of one of our guides, who'll be thrilled to show you around. Begin the tour in Old Delhi, exploring the beautiful palaces inside the Red Fort and then move to the symbolic centre of New Delhi, the India Gate and the Lotus Temple. The last two attractions, Qutub Minar and Humanyun's Tomb, are the city's foremost examples of medieval architecture.

Passing through alleys lined with designer stores, galleries and the most happening of restaurants and clubs, you walk suddenly into a quiet garden, full of trees and scattered monuments. Here you'll find domed pavillions, ruins of a madarsa and tomb of the Delhi ruler Firuz Shah Tughlaq, all of which overlook the Hauz Khas Lake. Listen to the chronicles of the old city of Siri, of which the Hauz Khas was a part, as you walk around the complex and sit around the parapet-less balconies. On the way back, you'll be shown around the boutiques and kitsch art stores, where you can get your hands on some clothing, art and other souvenirs.

Walk the chaotic, winding lanes of Old Delhi with our guide, starting with Ballimaran, home to the jooti market, old havelis and most importantly the haveli of Mirza Ghalib, the greatest Urdu poet the world has ever known. You will pass by shop after colourful shop until you enter Gali Qasim Jaan, where the poet once lived. Look around the haveli which now functions as a museum, preserving his books, a shatranj board and his verses on its walls. Then it's on to Gali Paranthe Wali, where you can gobble up some savory paranthas. The last stop will be the famous terrace in the Gadodia Spice Market, from where you can glimpse all of Chandni Chowk, as well as the Red Fort and Jama Masjid.

In the midst of the city but a world away, the Mehrauli Archaeological Park is a heritage area scattered with medieval ruins and overrun with trees. Come with us as we guide you through this refreshingly green jungle, tell you interesting snippets from Delhi's history and show you monuments like Balban's Tomb, Rajon ki Baoli, Metcalfe's Folly, Jamali Kamali Mosque and endless other structures. And you thought you knew your Delhi?

Jon and I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful tour. Neeraj did an incredible job showing us Delhi. So much so that we wish we had his knowledge and wit during our stay in Agra and Jaipur!

All of us had a great day seeing Delhi. We were shown so many places around Delhi, including Red Fort, India Gate and Qutub Minar and Manan made the day very enjoyable for us. Thank you WeAreHolidays, for organizing this smoothly, despite ours being such a large group.

Such a brilliantly planned tour! Delhi is full of medieval forts and tombs and Neeraj gave me a virtual history lesson on the city. We went to this Indian restaurant for lunch and the food was so spicy! I'd never tasted anything like that in my life.

This was our first trip to north India and we loved every single minute of it. Shubham showed us around Delhi, taking us all the main attractions. He was with us throughout and made sure that we were always comfortable. We left with big smiles on our faces.
