There are a number of delightful restaurants in Macau.
Tucked in sleepy Coloane Village, Lord Stow's is probably the most popular eat-out in Macau. The garden cafe is particularly renowned for its tasty egg tarts and cheese cafe, and if you do happen to visit Coloane, stop over for a bite. You can also try Ou Mun Cafe, with its pretty stained glasses. The cakes, the chocolates, the wide variety in breakfast offerings, everything is delicious here.
If you want to sample some genuine Portugese cuisine, there is none better than Antonio restaurant. The food is delicious, the mahogany -framed, dining room warm and cosy, and the menu well thought-out. If you could try only one Portuguese restaurant in Macau, we recommend this one.
Established in 1903, this popular diner that blends traditional Macau and Portugese cuisines has three branches, all of which get equally crowded. Although each restaurant has its own distinct decor, all three stress on luxury dining. The roast pigeon is probably the most popular dish here.
On a narrow cobblestone street just behind Senado square, the Escada is a lovely little restaurant in a restored which serves some scrumptious sea food. With huge portions, elegant decor and friendly staff, it is no surprise that it is one of the favourite restaurants for both travelers as well as locals.
The streets leading up to the St Pauls' Ruins are full of street food vendors, selling inexpensive but tasty items. The egg tarts might not be as great as the ones at Lord Stow but nevertheless are well worth a try. The almond cookies and nougats at the Ko Kei stores are also very popular amongst tourists.
