Situated close to the Eiffel Tower, the Le Billebaude is a beautiful little French restaurant with some great décor and a nice warm ambience. Even though there is just one waiter tending to the guests, the personalized service provided to each customer is absolutely top class. A three course meal comes at a very reasonable set price of 33 Euros, and the sea food and desert will leave you licking your fingers, or maybe forks! Highly recommended.
If you are looking forward to a fancy evening and a classy dining experience, look no further than the Maceo. Run by Englishman Mark Williamson, this beautiful restaurant with blood red walls, parquet floors and wedding cake mouldings, is situated in the heart of Paris and overlooks the Palais Royal. A vegetarian’s delight, a regular feature is the changing menus themed around a single vegetable, but do not label it as a vegetarian restaurant as it’ll make every carnivore smack his lips with the same abandon as a vegetarian. If you would like to enjoy a drink after the hearty meal, you might want to try the Willi's Wine Bar (also run by Willamson) just around the corner - a favourite local guzzling bar for Parisian wine lovers
Though on the expensive side, this three-star restaurant overlooking a pretty cobbled side street is definitely worth a visit. There is no menu here, and every dish is tailor-made according to your demands. Brilliantly imaginative in his creations, the chef can often make your eyes pop out of their sockets when the food is brought to the table with his fantastic presentations, and the very first spoonful is enough to make you want to beg for more. Amongst the best that Paris has to offer, this comfortable dining room with its mirrored walls, high ceilings, thoughtfully spaced tables and friendly service is absolutely French in its heart, but offers a modern and fresh take on French haute cuisine, and it will probably be one of your best dining experiences ever!
Another great place you could try is the Spring. A visit to this smart restaurant is much more than just a meal, it is an experience. There is a ‘show’ that Spring is famous for , put on by the head chef as he commands and pushes his team to create the dishes. The charisma as he carries out his performance is infectious, the aroma arising from the dishes divine, and the service impeccable. If you intend to go there, make sure you book a table weeks, if not months in advance!
Explore the city for Paris has thousands of bistros, catering to every possible taste or budget. The Apollo is a family restaurant in the 1970s style. If you want to try other international cuisines, the Blue Elephant serves great thai, the Ozu dishes out authentic Japanese or go for some sizzling Italian at the Le Curieux Spaghetti Bar. Dinners are usually served around 730 pm and since Parisians do tend to dress up for an evening meal, it would be advisable to check if the restaurant you are heading for has a dress code or not. If you are returning from a club in the late hours of the night, rather wee hours of the morning, and are hungry, Au Pied de Cochon is a fantastic option that is open 24/7 which has never closed since opening!
