The Gir National park is the only remaining habitat of the Asiatic lion. Although smaller than its African cousin, nevertheless, a large male lion of the Gir is quite a sight to behold. The best way to observe the big cats is, of course, in their natural surroundings, at dawn and dusk, when they are on the prowl. Come to Gir, to see the king of the jungle, to see a forest quite unlike any other in the country, to spend a weekend far different from the ones you usually indulge in.
Gujarati is the language spoken by most people in the Junagarh and Gir region.
