Amritsar’s Raja Sansi International airport has several flights coming in and out of it, bound for various parts of India and the globe. There are also daily flights to Chandigarh, Delhi and Jammu.
Amritsar Railway Station sees trains coming in from all major cities in India including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Trivandrum, etc.
The ideal way to get to Amritsar is by traversing the historic Grant Trunk Road, or National Highway 1, which passes through it. This city is therefore, very well connected by road. Daily buses run to and from Amritsar to Delhi, Ambala, Chandigarh and Jammu. There have been several plans to expand NH-1 and make the Golden Temple more accessible.
