Air
Assam is well connected to the rest of India by air and rail. Guwahati’s Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is the busiest and largest in Assam. It connects Guwahati with Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore and other major Indian cities. Dibrugarh, and Silchar also have major airports, and Tezpur and Jorhat have smaller airports. Most of these airports serve domestic carriers only. Guwahati is also a connecting airport for flights to other North-Eastern states.
RailGuwahati railway station is the largest in Assam and is served by direct trains from most of the major cities in India. Almost all of Assam is served by rail, connecting it to all major locations in India.
