A transparent tunnel runs along the centre ofold stormwater and sewage holding tanks, through which you travel on a conveyor belt, with the fish, including sharks and stingrays, swimming around you. You can step off at any time to take a closer look. The Antartic Encounter includes a walk through a replica of Scott’s 1911 Antarctic hut, and a ride aboard a heated Snow Cat through a frozen environment where a colony of king and gentoo penguins lives at sub-zero temperatures.
The Toi o Tamaki is New Zealand's oldest established and largest public art gallery.Opening in February 1888, the gallery has increasingly become a focal point of Auckland's rich and diverse cultural fabric, and now lies at the heart of the New Zealand art experience for both the local community and visitors alike.
The Auckland Civic Theatre is internationally significant as the largest surviving atmospheric cinema in Australasia (and also one of the only seven of its style remaining in the world) and as the first purpose-built cinema of this type in New Zealand. Known by Maori as Maungakiekie, or hill of the kiekie vine, One Tree Hill is a 20,000-year-old scoria cone offering exquisite views over central Auckland and surrounding areas. The eponymous pine tree at the summit, however, had to be removed following several attacks on its 105-year-old trunk.

The symmetrical crater (50 metre deep) is known as TeIpu Kai a Mataaho (the Food Bowl of Mataaho, the god of things hidden in the ground) and is highly tapu (sacred); don’t enter it, but feel free to explore the remainder of the mountain.It’s a must to take in the panoramic 360-degree views from the top.
