Open from morning till evening, the temple features a tooth relic of Lord Buddha, and it is also considered one of the most Holy shrines of Sri Lanka. This Elephant Orphanage in Kandy houses more than 70 semi-tame elephants. Visitors can watch the elephants being fed and bathed. There is also a small place in the street adjacent to the river that recycles elephant waste and uses the same to make paper, crayons, diaries, note pads etc.

Colombo's zoo features a variety of animals, birds, and reptiles from across the World. One of the most popular events inside the Zoo is the elephant show that takes place every evening at around 5:15PM. One can also enjoy elephant and pony rides in the Zoo. At the moment, the zoo is undergoing a renovation and the authorities are planning to have an open area for the various activities of elephants.

Yala National Park is home to a wide variety of elephants, monkeys, peacocks, leopards, etc. This walking-talking Jungle Book also features more than 150 species of birds including pintails, white-winged black terns, curlews, hornbills, bucket-load, etc. You will be required to check the details before paying a visit because strict security measures sometimes lead to sudden closure of the national park.
