Meghalaya

Shillong, the beautiful state capital of Meghalaya, is connected to Itanagar by road, making it an easy entry point to the state. Spend a few days in this alpine retreat, with stunning views and cool mountain air. Visit the Elephant Falls and viewpoint at Shillong Peak. Drive on to Cherrapunjee, known to be one of the rainiest places in the world. This quaint town is best experienced when sheets of torrential rain beat down on tin roofs in the city. Much of Meghalaya is covered in dense forest, concealing some of the best known secrets of our country. Natural root bridges, limestone caves, stunning waterfalls and beautiful rivers all lie amidst these towering mountains.

Assam

The gateway to North-East India remains a largely undiscovered jewel in India’s crown. Being one of the main entry points to Arunachal Pradesh, Assam is easily accessible from here by road within a few hours. With the mighty Brahmaputra running through the state, towering mountains framing its cities, lush vegetation and dense forest covering much of its area and its rich and wondrous wildlife, Assam is a fascinating state. It is home to numerous national parks and wildlife sanctuaries, including the famed Kaziranga and Manas National Parks. Bhutan

Arunachal Pradesh shares its western border with Bhutan, making it an easy getaway from here. Bhutan is the mystical land of the Thunder Dragon and the mythical Yeti. With towering mountains and stunning valleys, meandering rivers and lush green forests, this is a country steeped in Buddhism and culture, and often known as "The Last Shangrila."
