- An intended traveller planning a holiday visit, a short business trip or to transit through, needs to apply and obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) prior to arrival in Sri Lanka.
- An ETA holder is entitled to enter Sri Lanka within three months from the date of issue of ETA.

- If you wish to visit Sri Lanka without prior ETA approval, a limited facility to obtain ETA at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Colombo is available. Additional fees will apply.
- Ensure you are in possession of a passport valid for not less than 6 months from the date of arrival, a confirmed return ticket and sufficient funds to meet your expenses during your trip.
