You should have a passport valid for the entire duration of stay in the United Kingdom.
You would need to visit VFS to submit your biometric data.
Visa validity varies from 6 months to 10 years and allows a maximum stay of up to 6 months starting from the date of entry into the UK. Extension of the stay permitted is not possible in principle.
You can also request for a Fast Track service for an additional fee. Under this, the UK Border Agency will process the application and return the documents within guaranteed timescales.
You may request the Fast Track service if you are applying for a visitor visa (excluding student visas) and have travelled without difficulty in the last five years to one of the following countries: UK, US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or a Schengen country.
