One really hasn’t done anything in Macau, if they haven’ soaked in its night life, or been to one of its casinos. The city’s casinos rake even more money than the ones in Vegas, and therefore whether you love gambling or not, a visit to the Venetian Macao Hotel is an experience you must not miss out on. The resort, themed around the beautiful city of Venice, complete with replicas of famous landmarks like St. Mark’s and three indoor canals made even more delightful with singing gondoliers, is a terrific tourist attraction and is visited by almost 85,000 people every day. The casino has 3400 slot machines, 800 gambling tables and, also a 15,000 seater arena for entertainment that is graced by some very big names. In addition to the world’s largest casino, the Venetian Macao also has 350 specialty shops, a mini golf course, four outdoor swimming pools, a Cirque du Soleil theater and huge food courts serving cuisines from all over the world. The Venetian Macao is not just a hotel, it is a destination by itself. Rumour has it that some foreign tourists go straight to the hotel, and spend their entire holiday there. Speaks a lot about a place, rumour or otherwise.
One of the premier attractions of the City of Dreams, the House of Dancing Water is sure to boggle your senses. At the base, it is just a show with a regular plot of boy meets girl and the usual trysts. But it is the breathtaking and daredevil array of stunts, acrobatics and action performed by the actors, musicians, choreographers and motor bikers that sets your heart racing. The water pool is the world's largest on stage, and the fantastic visuals and stunning lights and sounds effects, coupled with the scintillating theatrics make it an experience that you would have never seen before.
Measuring 338 m in height, it offers a breathtaking birds-eye view over the city from the observation lounge. Sections of this lounge are fitted with glass floors and it needs a brave heart to look down for the earth is 233 metres away and for an instant you might feel as if you are plummeting through air. Besides restaurants, shopping malls and theaters, you can also go for an exciting walking tour (Skywalk X) around the outer rim of the tower. The tower is also the centre of various adventurous activities. The Macau Tower's tethered "skyjump" is the second highest commercial skyjump in the world.
This grand aquarium is right next to the casino in the City of Dreams, and is supposed to bring an inexhaustible amount of luck to the person visiting, so maybe you should chance your luck!
If you haven' been to Venice, Italy, this is probably the best and most realistic way to get a feel of that most romantic of Italian cities.
