Gendarmenmarkt

More of a square than a market, Gendarmenmarkt was created as a market place in the 17th century and largely destroyed in the Second World War. The beautiful Konzerthaus (concert house) is located here, as are the twin churches of Deutscher Dom and Franzosischer Dom, the identical German and French Cathedrals. Berlin's best Christmas market is held here. The square is lined with many cafes, shops and restaurants

Kurfürstendamm

Popularly known as Ku'damm, this is the main shopping street in Berlin. Lined with shops, restaurants, designer boutiques, high fashion stores and popular outlets, this is the place that’s thronging with tourists and locals alike all looking to fill up their shopping bags. An extension of this area is Tauentzienstraße, also lined with many shops and stalls.

Friedrichstraße

An upmarket shopping street in former East Berlin, this area is dotted with trendy second-hand clothing and accessories stores. It’s most popular for its souvenir shops and gift stores. Many boutiques and young designer stores pop up here, along with record stores and stalls full of quirky, kitschy items.

Arkonaplatz and Mauerpark Flea Markets

These two flea markets situated close to each other guarantee many hours of colourful shopping. If retro is your style, go wild picking up vinyl records, posters, accessories, furniture and much more from the era of groove.

Potsdamer Platz Arkaden

This mall located in central Berlin offers 3 levels with over 120 stores that include fashion, designer stores, shoes, restaurants, cafes, and more. Many cinemas, the musical theatre and a casino are right beside the mall as well.

Alexa Mall

A huge mega-mall situated close to Alexanderplatz, this mall consists of five levels with 180 shops of luxury goods and entertainment items. Clothing stores, electrical items, food stores and the largest MediaMarkt in Europe can all be found here along with all major retail brand names.

Europa Center

A shopping experience with a difference, enjoy window shopping as you browse through the beautiful window displays, enjoy the breathtaking view from the 20th floor, stop for a great meal at one of the many restaurants and spend some time browsing through the art galleries.
