For people who love wildlife, India is a perfect place to go for a tour. Jungle safaris offered by different wildlife sanctuaries located in different parts of the country are highlights of its tourism. Wildlife of India is quite diverse and the habitat is different in different parts of the country. On the Gangetic plains on North India wildlife sanctuaries are homes to Himalayan marmots, blue sheep, snow partridges, snow leopards, Himalayan wolfs, makhors and much more. Jim Corbett National Park, Bharatpur Nation Park and Ranthambore National Park are the three major tourist spots in the North, in terms of wildlife in India. The eastern part of India is home to some endangered species of animals like Pigmy Hog, Hispid Hare, Wild Buffaloes and one-horned rhinoceros. However, the biggest attraction is Royal Bengal Tiger. In Eastern India, two prime wildlife tourist spots are the Sundarbans and Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary. The Southern zone, with its oceanic climatic condition, makes a perfect habitat for diverse species of mammals, reptiles and birds. There are quite a few wildlife tourist spots in the bottom part of India's map but the biggest highlights are the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary and Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary. Here, you can enjoy watching Malabar Trogons, Bisons and Antelopes. The wilderness areas in Western parts of India are very rich in flora and fauna they make home for over 450 species of birds and 40 species of mammals. Here, prime spots for wildlife enthusiasts are Asiatic Lions that are seen in the Sasangir Wildlife Sanctuary. Dhangadhra Sanctuary, Marine National Park and Sanctuary and Velavadar National Park are also extremely rich in wildlife. Jim Corbett National Park in the state of Uttarakhand is the oldest in the country and is surely the richest. If fortune favors, you can watch some endangered Royal Bengal tigers walking on the grasslands. nilgai, King Cobra, sambar, wild boar, gharial, chital, elephant and Indian pangolins could be seen easily here. Though tourism is allowed only in some specific areas of the park, Jim Corbett National Park is the most popular spot, in terms of India wildlife tours.
