Also known as zone change syndrome, Jet Lag throws our body clock off balance when we travel rapidly on a jet across different time zones. To put it in plain words, when we fly to a different time zone, our body gets confused, and in a bid to bring back the balance, we need to go through the torturesome symptoms of jet lag. Does that sound tacky, believe us, it is equally nasty a situation to deal with. But, worry not, there are easy and natural ways of finding your balance. There are a few interesting facts related to the syndrome that every flyer, whether a first timer or a frequent one must know:

1. Jet lag is a result of hormonal imbalance, known as melatonin.

2. Only right exposure to light will get your body clock back in balance.

3. It’s easier to cope with jet lag when flying westwards.

4. A common practice is to put yourself to sleep with sleeping pills, but it can worsen jet lag.

5. Jet lag is completely curable and reversible condition.

6. Jet lag can affect any healthy person; 60-70% of long distance travellers experience it.

Coming to ways of dealing with jet lag, we have produced a very handy infographic that indicates dos and donts and treat the condition. Now, since you are equipped to tame jet lag head on, go ahead and be a high flyer.
