While our parents blushed for Shammi Kapoor or Sadhna, we grew up lusting after SRK or Madhuri or Katrina…(boss shouts from behind, ‘Mallika Sherawat’). So, what will you do if I tell you that you can actually go and see them shoot? Catch a glimpse into the life behind the silver screen? Walk on the same sets where some of the most iconic Hindi films were shot?
Bollywood Tourism has just the right gift for you this summer: structured studio tours. The company has tied up with SJ Studios and Film City to introduce tourists and Bollywood fans to the world of Hindi cinema. “We’ve created structured studio tours to show tourists the working of Bollywood […] These tours provide them with an all-inclusive Bollywood feel,” says Manoj Gursahani, Chairman, Bollywood Tourism.
What they are offering:
- Trip to film studios to witness live shoots. – Don’t shout, laugh, cry, get overwhelmed or faint on the set.
- Experts will give you an insight into special effects and other post production techniques. – now you will know how Hrithik jumped from the fourteenth floor.
- Visit to Bollywood gallery and café.
- And the best one! Hold your breath – a ride to star homes! In this one, you are allowed to faint. Or scream.
Tourists can choose from a variety of tour packages. There is a Self-drive Tour where you have access to studios and a special effects guide. The Private Tour includes a ride to star homes. And there’s 2-night stay package called Bollywood Experience for those who just can’t get enough of Bollywood. The company is even offering a school and college field trip option which includes not only all the star attractions, but also a certificate of participation at the end of the trip!
