Sharing is ‘Car’ing

Fuel prices are soaring, the environment is being bombarded with pollution, public transport is a nightmare. How does one commute?

Sign up for a social ride-sharing service! BlaBla Car, Britain’s largest car sharing company has come with a simple process that connects like-minded people so you can enjoy the perfect with higher comfort and lesser cost.

How it works?

You can either sign up with your own car or look for someone to share a ride with. Passengers can easily find drivers online with the help of the internal messaging system. Confidentiality of both parties is protected. Once the car share is planned, real life meetings are made simple and reliable.

Meeting points are displayed on an interactive map. No need to make lots of calls describing exactly where you are as it’s been agreed in advance and you know the model and colour of the car, so you’ll have no problem finding each other.

What’s new?

You can select your travel buddies on a whole range of personal preferences. From music and leg room to pets and smoking. You can even opt for a ‘Ladies Only’ ride if you so wish, we’re yet to come across a ‘Gentlemen Only’ specification!

Members and passengers can be rated so you can check on authenticity. Everything is verified from phone numbers to facebook accounts. The idea is to build a reliable community and they sure seem to have got it right!

Pricing

The pricing is transparent with BlaBla car’s automatic calculator that suggests price per passenger. Prices are capped so that drivers only offset their running costs (without making a profit), in accordance with regulation. They are also non-negotiable, making it perfectly straightforward to plan your car share, and transparent for both parties.

Do you think something of this sort will work as well in India?? Give us your opinions in the comments section.
