With Starbucks, the world’s largest international coffee chain about to open its stores across India, Costa Coffee is now geared to up its game. The brand recently launched its 100th outlet in the country at Carter Road, Bandra (Mumbai).
Costa Coffee added 100 stores in India in the past six years. However, their new strategy included opening 100 more stores across the nation in the next two years. As of now, their outlets exist in Mumbai, Delhi, Banglore and Pune.
Starbucks is entering the Indian market in a joint venture with Tata Global Beverages, competing with Café Coffee Day, Barista and Costa Coffee. These cafes will be branded as Starbucks Coffee ‘A Tata Alliance’ and the initial outlets will open in New Delhi and Mumbai within the next two months.
